LED display technology, that is, the matrix arrangement of LED beads as the basic light source, by controlling the brightness, color and brightness of each LED lamp bead in the display module, so as to achieve the display of content. LED based on its inorganic material properties, relatively good stability, the product application environment requirements are relatively low, not only can be used for indoor display, but also to achieve outdoor all-weather use. At the same time, LEDs rely on their infinite stretching characteristics to cover display products from small to large sizes. In addition, due to the self-illumination display, it also has the characteristics of high brightness, large viewing angle and high definition, which can meet the use of different environments.
LED display technology development process
Since the advent of LED display technology, the development process of related products is mainly divided into monochrome LED, ordinary full-color LED, small-pitch LED and Mini/Micro LED. The pixel pitch of the Mini/MicroLED display can reach the micron level. Compared with ordinary full-color LED displays, small-pitch LEDs and Mini/MicroLED displays have the characteristics of high definition, high gray scale, high contrast, etc., and the display effect has improved significantly, which has become the mainstream development direction of LED display.
(1) Security monitoring

As government departments at all levels continue to promote the construction of social security prevention and control systems such as safe city, Skynet project, Xueliang project, etc., technological innovation such as artificial intelligence and 5G technology, and infrastructure construction such as railways, highways, and urban railways continue to invest heavily in the demand for corresponding video surveillance products, the video surveillance application market will continue to maintain rapid growth.
(2) Data center
In recent years, China has continuously accelerated the construction of new infrastructure, and data centers, as a key area of new infrastructure, have also ushered in a climax of construction and have been continuously applied to major fields. In March 2020, China clearly proposed to “accelerate the construction progress of new infrastructure such as 5G networks and data centers”, and in May 2021, the “Implementation Plan for the Computing Power Hub of the National Integrated Big Data Center Collaborative Innovation System” promulgated by the Chinese government clearly pointed out that it is necessary to promote the construction of data centers and accelerate the construction of a number of big data development highlands with high-quality computing power supply and efficient data circulation. (3) Cinema
Cinema display is another important area of future LED display power, the current traditional film projection is mainly based on projection, the playback of ambient light requirements is higher. The self-illuminating nature of LED displays gives them high brightness, eliminating the need for tight control of cinema light. In addition, LED displays are better than traditional projection methods in terms of color saturation and picture quality, and clarity.
(4) Shopping malls
As a modern place integrating entertainment, consumption and catering, large shopping malls are closely related to people’s lives. As one of the places with the largest number of people in the city, the advertising location in the shopping mall can bring great commercial value, so the shopping mall advertising display carrier has large market demand. With the birth of small-pitch LED display technology, the original advertising carrier of the mall is gradually being replaced by LED displays.

(5) Sports events
In the field of sports events, LED displays are widely used in event scoring, real-time broadcast of competitions, advertising and so on. In August 2021, China issued the “National Fitness Plan (2021-2025)”, which proposes to build or renovate more than 2,000 sports parks, national fitness centers, public sports venues and other fitness venues and facilities, and digitally upgrade more than 1,000 public sports venues. LED display, as an essential facility for sports venues, has gained greater opportunities under this favorable policy. The addition and transformation of sports venues will be conducive to the improvement of LED display demand.
(6) Stage
In recent years, with the rise of the entertainment economy, performance activities have gradually increased, the market has become more diversified, from the original focus on the scale of performances, began to pay attention to the quality of live performances, and the requirements for stage presentation effects are getting higher and higher. LED display based on their bright color, flexible structure and other advantages, are more and more widely used in the design of major performance stages.

(7) LCD TV
Since 2004, when Sony Corporation of Japan launched the first LCD TV with LED backlight, LED backlight has become the backlight solution of choice for LCD TVs. In 2021, with the gradual maturity of MiniLED backlight technology, well-known companies such as Huawei and Samsung have launched MiniLED backlit TVs. Compared with ordinary LED backlight TVs, the use of MiniLED backlight TVs for LED beads as backlights has increased significantly, and the demand for display driver chips has also increased accordingly.
(8) Virtual shooting
At present, LED displays are increasingly appearing in film shooting production for the construction of virtual scenes. Compared with traditional green screen shooting, under virtual shooting, the LED display can present different realistic shooting environments in time as needed, and the director and actors are in the visible scene, without imagining the green screen and the wall. In addition, the introduction of LED displays has also changed the traditional film production process, reducing the proportion of post-computer modification scenes, and saving a lot of post-production time and cost.
